# The Client Portal

> What your clients see in AIWA: a branded portal with their live site, pinned comments and threaded replies, and no access to your builder, files or spending.

The client portal is where your clients see their work.

It shows the live site for each of their projects, with a comment panel beside it, under your agency's name, logo and colour.

**One calm page per project.**

> [!NOTE]
>
> Client invitations and the client portal are available on the Agency and Enterprise plans.

## How a Client Arrives

**1. The invitation e-mail**

You invite the client from the agency console or the project's People tab. They receive an e-mail under your agency's name.

**2. The invitation page**

The link opens a page naming your agency, the project and the invited e-mail address, before the client has an account.

**3. Sign up or sign in**

The client signs up or signs in with the invited address. Where it's enabled, they can ask for a one-time sign-in link instead of choosing a password.

**4. The portal opens**

The client lands in the portal for their projects.

## What the Client Sees

### Their projects

The portal lists the client's projects under your brand. If they have only one, it opens straight away.

### The live site

Each project page shows the published site in a frame.

* If the project isn't published yet, the portal says so instead.
* While a new publish is landing, the site stays visible and a bar says it is updating.

Publishing is the release. The client always sees what is live at the project's address, never a draft.

### The comment panel

Beside the site is the comment panel, where the client can:

* Drop a pin on a spot on the page and comment on it
* Leave a comment about the whole site
* Read your team's replies and reply back
* Mark their own comment as done, or reopen it
* Select **Looks good** when they're happy

See [Commenting & Feedback](/teams/commenting.md) for how pins and threads work.

### Focus mode

Focus mode puts the site full screen, with the comment panel at its side. It works on phones too: when a client places a pin, the panel moves aside so the comment bubble stays visible.

### Help

The portal's Help link writes to your agency's contact e-mail, so client questions come to you.

## What the Client Never Sees

* The builder, prompts or chat
* Files and code
* Deploy and hosting details
* Your other team members or other clients
* Credits, spending or billing

Clients don't take a seat on your plan and never spend your credits.

## After a Hand-off

When you [hand off](/agency/client-handoff.md) a project, the client's project page gains a small menu:

| Page | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Site** | The live site and comments |
| **Hand-off** | The hand-off document, with Sign off and Download PDF |
| **Traffic** | Visits to their site, if you shared it |
| **Accounts** | The people with an account on their site, if you shared it |

## Preview the Portal as Your Client

Your team can open the client view of any project to see exactly what the client sees. On the Accounts page, the team sees a note that only the client changes accounts there; the team uses **App users** in the builder.

You can also preview your portal's branding in [Brand & Communication](/agency/brand-studio.md) before inviting anyone.

## Next: Client Hand-off & Sign-off

When the work is finished, you can formally hand the site to the client and ask them to sign it off.

> **[Client Hand-off & Sign-off](/agency/client-handoff.md)**
>
> Hand a live project to your client, get their sign-off, and share Traffic and Accounts.
